Good, honest furniture-making. Obin is a bespoke joinery and fit-out business based in Portadown. Now in its fourth-generation, it originally launched in 1898 as Thomas McDonagh Furniture Makers, and evolved into one of Ireland’s most notable and accomplished brands in the interior design and architectural sectors.

We’ve worked alongside John McDonagh, Obin’s Managing Director (and Thomas McDonagh’s great-great-grandson) since 2022 to reposition, refresh, and relaunch the business. We found new ways to use their brand, creating modular systems across print, web, social and outdoor applications.
Ultimately, our key role was finding out what made this business successful. It all came back to pride; a team that’s proud to call themselves makers, proud to create something stunning every day, proud of the experience interacting with the products everyday, proud of themselves. Pride is why John runs the same business his great-great-grandfather did, and it’s been our sole focus from the beginning.
125 years—
To celebrate Obin’s 125th anniversary, we created a bespoke print project featuring five modular brochures, each highlighting their world-class work across multiple sectors.

It’s all printed on GF Smith Colourplan (thanks to our good friends at WithPrint). We chose foil blocking finishes, gatefolded covers, and Singer-sewn bounding to ensure a final product that stands up to the craftsmanship within.
Released as an edition of 80 – we’re lucky enough to have one in the studio which sits pride of place.

“Hundred Studio were able to tell our story in a way that we haven’t been able to find elsewhere. They acknowledged our history while creating excitement and energy about the future.”
